Senior Sales Engineer Cloud Administrator (Weather Source)

Weather Source (Pelmorex's B2B Brand in the US) seeks an experienced Sr. Sales Engineer & Cloud Administrator who is ready to support our sales team on deliveries, customer engagement, and strategic partnerships. This individual will become the resident expert on our multiple cloud deployments, which include AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake, and more.


We are looking for someone to own this role and establish the practices and vision that help us scale to the next level. We are looking for an individual with experience configuring and supporting integrations on the following platforms:


- The AWS / GCP Ecosystems

- Snowflake

- Enterprise REST APIs

- Enterprise Web Apps

Core Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between Weather Source’s sales and engineering teams.
  • Support the Weather Source sales team on deliveries and customer engagement, with a primary focus on tier I and II customer-related and triage support issues.
  • Engage with customers throughout their journey with Weather Source, from onboarding to troubleshooting challenges to presenting and implementing solutions.
  • Lead the set up of new Weather Source cloud instances.
  • Lead our developer relations efforts: create and maintain technical documentation, tutorial videos, release notes, sample code, GitHub presence, presentations, etc.
  • Lead our technical customer success efforts: coordinate with Fire rotation, generate bug reports, populate and triage support tickets.
  • Participates in engineering sprints.
  • Dive deep into customer use cases and translate them into flushed-out product, feature, and support requests.
  • Configure and optimize existing cloud instances to conform with best practices and ensure maximum operational efficiency.
  • You will jointly report to the Engineering Manager and the Sr. VP of Business Development and Sales.

Required Skills and Experience

  •  BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of direct experience working within cloud environments.
  • Prior experience working with data, specifically weather data, is a big plus.
  • Experience working across both sales and engineering teams.
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Polished presentation and communication skills.
  • Deep knowledge of the cloud data marketplace space: Snowflake, Carto, etc.
  • Technical wizard, recovering software engineer: Cloud experience and certifications, Basic software engineering skills: Scripting/programming language (JavaScript, Python, or similar).
  • Linux and common linux utils: grep, ls, sed, bash, etc. ▪ Chrome Dev Tools and web app debugging, ▪ Proxies (Charles or similar),
  • Postman, Swaggerdocs, etc.
  • Solid SQL experience.
  • GitHub flows.
  • Basic knowledge of the software lifecycle including QA and support. o Web debugging: Chrome dev tools. o Basic GIS knowledge: QGIS, ArcGIS, PostGIS, GeoJson, Shapefiles, common problems and solutions.
  • Thinks “at scale”: Documentation and technical writing skills. Video tutorials, Presentation skills. Great speaker, with an eye for visual design.
  • Project management skills: o Aggressive Jira user. o Confluence o Google Drive and Docs o Excel/Google Sheets Formula Pro.
  • Sincere interest in working at a startup and scaling with the company.
  • Experience with or interest in weather and climate technologies; desire to develop creative and valuable solutions within this domain.
