Business Development Representative - West Region

Our Business Development Representative focuses on identifying and engaging prospective customers by handling inbound sales lead calls, making outbound follow-up calls, qualifying opportunities, and setting up qualified prospects. 

Location: This position will be remote. Candidate must live in the Western region time zone.

Travel requirements: Travel to teambuilding events and/or conferences can be expected approximately every 2-3 months.


  • Understand and communicate Navisite’s value proposition in general and as it relates to unique needs of each prospect.
  • Proactively and reactively generate qualified prospect meetings via email, LinkedIn, direct calls, etc.
  • Monitor and field all inbound sales inquiries.
  • Contact and qualify prospects with certain behavior-based triggers (positive email responses, website form fills, etc.), including cold calling.
  • Successfully manage and overcome prospect objections.
  • Qualify all prospects prior to booking meetings.
  • Educate prospects on Navisite solutions and value proposition.
  • Build trust and rapport with prospects.
  • Remain educated about vital lead information prior to holding scheduled meetings with prospects.
  • Schedule, attend, and document sales meetings and secondary/technical meetings with appropriate internal support staff.
  • Follow up with prospects post-sales meetings and secondary/technical meetings - providing content, documents, pricing, etc.
  • Keep accurate, up-to-date information on all prospect interactions and communications in Salesforce.
  • Update lead and opportunity stages and captured information in accordance with Navisite sales processes.
  • Keep marketing management informed on all lead generation efforts and results.
  • Strategize with marketing and sales team members to maximize lead generation.


  • Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) from four-year college or university; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous industry experience in customer service, technology and/or business preferred.
  • 1-2 years of successful experience working in an Inside Sales/Business Development Role preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Entrepreneurial, motivated, and a desire for continuous learning.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to learn new technologies - previous experience in Salesforce, Pardot, HubSpot, Google, LinkedIn, and/or Microsoft tools is a plus.
