ABOUT US

Mountaintop is a new game studio creating multiplayer games for players who crave a challenge. We’re an independent, remote-first studio primarily located in the US and Canada.

We’re creating the types of games that bring people together — and keep them together for “just one more round.” The types of games that inspired us as kids. The games that become our hobbies, and sometimes our obsessions.

Games are a reflection of the teams that make them. So to make the best games, we’re building a studio that puts the team first — one that's collaborative, anti-crunch, diverse, and inclusive.

We’d love for you to join us.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a UI Engineer passionate about implementing and maintaining user interfaces for various game features. UI Engineers are crucial to creating intuitive, visually stunning, and responsive user interfaces that enhance the player experience. You’ll play a crucial role in bringing our first title to life.

YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  •  Implementing and maintaining user interfaces for various game features, including menus, HUD elements, in-game displays, and interactive components
  • Rapidly prototype and iterate on UI designs to explore different concepts, gather feedback and refine the user experience
  • Optimize UI performance for various platforms and devices, ensuring smooth and responsive interactions across screen resolutions and hardware configurations
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate UI assets into the Unreal engine, ensuring seamless functionality and alignment with game design objectives
  • Develop custom tools and systems to streamline UI creation, editing, and implementation processes, empowering designers and artists to iterate efficiently
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging of UI elements to identify and resolve functionality, performance, and visual fidelity issues.

ABOUT YOU

  • A love for playing and making amazing games
  • Experience working in Unreal Engine 4
  • Experience working with scripting languages
  • A minimum of 3 years of programming experience
  • Self-motivated and eager to contribute in many different areas of development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

PLUSES

  • Experience building UI using both UMG and Slate
  • Experience working with C++ in a professional setting
  • Experience working with Typescript
  • Experience supporting a live service title
  • Experience working on networked multiplayer games
  • Computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related degree

The estimated salary range for this role is $80,000 - 110,000 USD
