This "Privacy Policy" describes how My Tiny Rocket LLC ("Remote Army", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses and shares your personal information in connection with the remotearmy.io website (the "Site") and any other services that link to this Privacy Policy (together with the Site, the "Service"). Remote Army is a job board: job seekers use it to find remote work, and employers use it to post and pay for job listings.

Personal Information We Collect

Information you give us. Depending on how you use the Service, this may include:

• Account data, such as the email address and password you use to create an account, and any name, profile details or preferences you choose to add.
• Employer and listing data, such as your company details and the content of the job listings you publish.
• Payment data, if you are an employer paying for a listing. Card payments are handled by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not receive or store your full card number. We retain only a payment reference and the last four digits, so we can show you which card was used.
• Job-alert and saved-search preferences, such as the searches you save and the delivery frequency you choose.
• Communications you send us, such as support requests and feedback.

Job listings we import. Some listings on the Service are imported from employers' public job pages and applicant-tracking systems. This is public job-posting content, not job-seeker personal information.

Information collected automatically. When you use the Service we record limited technical and usage information — the pages you view, the site that referred you, campaign parameters in the link you arrived through, your approximate location (country and city), and general device and browser type. How this is collected, and what is and is not stored, is described in full in the Cookies and Your Analytics Choice section below. We do not store your IP address in our own analytics, and our analytics provider does not store it either.

Email engagement. For the emails we send you — job alerts, digests, and account messages — our email provider (SendGrid) reports whether a message was delivered, opened, or had a link clicked. We use this only to keep our sending reliable and to stop mailing addresses that bounce or complain. We store the recipient's identity as a one-way keyed hash on these records, never the raw address.

Sensitive information. Please do not send us sensitive personal information (such as government identifiers, or data about your health, race, religion, political opinions or similar). We do not ask for it and do not need it to provide the Service.

How We Use Your Personal Information

Running the Service. To create and maintain your account, publish and manage listings, take payment for employer listings, send the job alerts and digests you sign up for, respond to your requests, and keep the Service secure and working.

Understanding and improving the Service. To see which pages and features help people find jobs, so we can build more of what works. Wherever we can, we do this with aggregated or pseudonymous data rather than data that identifies you, and the analytics that could identify a returning browser are only collected if you accept them.

Communicating with you. To send you service messages you cannot opt out of while you hold an account (such as password resets, security notices, and payment receipts), and the marketing messages you did opt into (such as job alerts and digests), which you can turn off at any time.

Legal and safety. To comply with the law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms of Service, and prevent fraud, abuse and security threats.

What we do not do. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising, we do not run interest-based or targeted ads, we do not share it with advertising networks, and we do not track you across other websites.

How We Share Your Personal Information

We share personal information only in the limited ways described here.

Service providers. Companies that process data on our behalf, under contract and only on our instructions, so we can run the Service. They are:

• SendGrid (Twilio) — sends our email and reports delivery, open and click events.
• Pirsch Analytics — cookie-free website analytics, built and hosted in Germany (EU). See the analytics section below.
• Stripe — processes employer card payments.
• Amazon Web Services — hosts uploaded files and images (such as company logos).
• Sentry and Lightstep — error and performance monitoring that helps us keep the Service running.

Public job listings. A job listing is content an employer chooses to publish. Listings are visible to anyone on the Service, are included in our sitemap for search engines such as Google, and may be shared to our public channels on Telegram, Reddit and Bluesky. This is the employer's own listing content; it is not job-seeker personal information.

Legal, safety and business transfers. We may disclose information to comply with the law or lawful requests, to protect our rights, users and safety, and — if Remote Army is ever involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets — to the parties to that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.

Cookies We Set, and Your Analytics Choice

We measure how people find and use the Site so we can build more of what works. We do not sell this data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with advertising networks. The measurement cookie below is only set if you accept it.

For general website statistics we use Pirsch Analytics, a cookie-free service built and hosted in Germany (EU). Pirsch sets no cookie and never stores your IP address. To count a visit it creates a temporary identifier by hashing your IP address, your browser's user-agent, the date, and a per-site secret; the inputs are discarded immediately and the identifier changes every 24 hours, so you cannot be recognised from one day to the next or across other sites. This runs for all visitors and needs no cookie; a data processing agreement governs it.

Separately, and only if you accept, we set our own first-party analytics cookie so we can recognise a returning browser and see which sources bring people who find jobs. The cookies we may set are:

What we record. For each measured action — a search, a job view, an apply click, a save, a registration, a published listing, a digest email — we store the action, the page, the pseudonymous identifiers above, and the referrer or campaign that brought you here. Search terms are never stored: we keep only how many characters you typed, plus a keyed hash used to recognise a repeated search. Event records are kept for 400 days and then deleted.

If you refuse. We set no _ra_vid cookie and cannot recognise your browser on a later visit. Actions within a single visit are still counted, without any identifier that survives it.

Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Sec-GPC or DNT signal we treat it as a refusal, whatever this page says, and we do not ask you again.

If you close your account. Once the account is permanently deleted, we unlink these records from you rather than deleting them: they stay as anonymous counts with no connection to any person. You can ask us for a copy of the events linked to your account at support@remotearmy.io.

Change your mind at any time. Use the buttons below, or the "Privacy choices" link in the footer of every page. Refusing deletes the _ra_vid cookie immediately.

Your Rights and Choices

Access, correction and deletion. You can view and edit most of your information from your account settings. You can also ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal information by emailing support@remotearmy.io. Depending on where you live — for example, in the UK, the EU/EEA, or California — you may have a legal right to these, and we honour them regardless of where you live.

Marketing emails. You can turn off job alerts and digests from your account, from the "manage" link in any such email, or by contacting us. You will still receive necessary account messages (such as password resets and receipts) while you hold an account.

Analytics. You can accept or refuse our first-party analytics cookie at any time, using the controls in the section above or the "Privacy choices" link in the footer. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a refusal.

Complaints. If you are in the UK or EU/EEA and believe we have mishandled your information, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first, at support@remotearmy.io.

How Long We Keep Information

We keep account information for as long as your account is open, and for a short period afterwards as needed to comply with the law, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When an account is permanently deleted, analytics events are unlinked from you and kept only as anonymous counts. Analytics event records are deleted after 400 days. Email delivery records identify the recipient only by a one-way hash.

International Users and Data Transfers

Remote Army is operated by a company based in the United States. Our website analytics are processed within the European Union (Pirsch, hosted in Germany), while some of our other providers — such as our email, payment and hosting providers — process data in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries whose data-protection laws may differ from your own. We take steps to protect it as described in this Privacy Policy.

Security

The security of your personal information matters to us, and we use organizational, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third-Party Sites

The Service links to other websites — most obviously, the employer sites where you complete a job application. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit from ours.

Children

The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 16, we will delete it.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and post the new policy on the Service, and — where required by law — notify you another way. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
