About the job:
AppFollow is an App reputation automation platform. Our main goal is to ease the everyday routines of app developers, product managers, marketing teams, customer support, etc. AppFollow helps you gather and manage your apps and games data, increase app average rating, improve app store rankings, and app user loyalty.
This is a fully remote opportunity for the Product Manager for the Data Sources product domain, focused on ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) systems. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end data integration processes across various data sources (e.g. App Store Connect, Google Play Console, other consoles) and validating & adding new data sources (e.g., Steam, Discord, social media networks, etc). It’s a great opportunity to manage all data available in AppFollow to define data sources, storage methods, and identify key data insights that might be crucial for our customers. The mission of ETL team is to expand data collection from a wider range of mobile sources, to store, obtain, extract and provide them to other teams.
You will continuously develop a deep understanding of our customers, company strategy, and competitors, ensuring that the product delivers value. This role will involve frequent collaboration with cross-functional teams to define architecture for future solutions, automate processes like invitation management from different sources, and support traceability for parsing tasks and data collection.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and communicate the product roadmap:
- Strategically plan and maintain the product roadmap, prioritizing projects that align with key business objectives.
- Adapt the roadmap based on evolving business needs and market trends.
- Communicate updates effectively to stakeholders and team members.
Manage customer interviews:
- User research and validation sessions to assess the need for new features (pre-development).
- Gather and incorporate feedback on implemented features (post-release) to ensure product-market fit.
Manage PRD for architectural decisions:
- Collaborate with technical leads and stakeholders to create and manage Product Requirement Documents (PRDs).
- Align architectural decisions within the ETL team and across other teams to meet business goals.
Own and maintain the quality of data collection:
- Ensure efficient and high-quality data collection and processing across various sources.
- Utilize data quality frameworks and tools to enhance data integrity and reliability.
- Implement best practices for data governance and compliance.
Break down solutions into milestones:
- Decompose solutions into smaller, releasable milestones.
- Mitigate risks and accelerate delivery through iterative development.
Ensure product outcomes meet quality standards.
- Define and monitor KPIs to measure product success (e.g., number of active connections, % use case coverage over data sources).
- Focus on continuous improvement post-release to meet quality standards and business objectives.
- Ensure that product outcomes deliver real value to customers and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- 3+ years as a Product Manager, ideally within scale-up or start-up environments.
- Experience in industries such as B2B SaaS and data analytics is preferred.
Technical proficiency:
- Proven capability to oversee the automation of data collection processes from sources like social networks, mobile app stores, or other external platforms.
- Experience with web scraping tools and techniques.
Customer insight and market analysis:
- Strong understanding of customer needs, product use cases, and the competitive landscape.
- Experience conducting market research and competitive analysis to inform product strategy.
Cross-functional collaboration:
- Proven ability to work effectively with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to influence and lead teams without direct authority.
Decision-making:
- Strategic, solid decision-making abilities, utilizing data-driven insights to inform product direction.
- Ability to define and develop Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) focusing on customer needs.
Communication skills:
- Must have: Upper intermediate proficiency in English.
- Nice to have: Upper intermediate proficiency in Russian.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Must have:
- Understanding of data integration concepts and the architecture of ETL pipelines.
- Experience with data extraction from APIs, flat files, and databases.
- Practical experience with web scraping techniques and tools.
- Tools: Amplitude, JIRA, Confluence, Figma.
- Ready for business trips cross Europe (2-4 times per year).
Nice to have:
- Technical background: Data Science (DS) or related technical field.
- SQL skills for data manipulation and querying.
- Experience in launching or managing mobile apps on the App Store or Google Play.
