The Role:

Those who join us on this journey will have the chance to handle complex agreements in multiple jurisdictions for our pharmaceutical client. This is a great opportunity to build upon your existing legal and contract experience through taking on increasingly challenging negotiations as well as subject matter. This is a client-facing role where you will be responsible for contract execution process, from receipt of the contract request through supplier signature, including reviewing, drafting, managing and negotiating a wide variety of international contracts; as well as interfacing with the business partner (internal and external) for such activities.

Responsibilities

  • Execute contract management activities (including drafting and negotiating contracts, contract execution, regular updates to the systems and trackers)
  • Participate in or support process improvement initiatives
  • Support client on routine contract template and negotiation playbook management (e.g., updates to existing templates or negotiation playbooks
  • May support QC activities
  • May serve as point of contact (e.g. back-up) to designated client contracting team or within designated focus area (e.g. lead or participate in regular check-s meetings to discuss updates, process changes, questions and contract request queues)
  • Assist with the resolution of contract level issues and escalations
  • May train/mentor team members when proved to have sufficient knowledge and skills to perform the training;

Essential Criteria

This role requires the legal knowledge to take instructions from our Clients, take appropriate action and serve as an escalation point on issues for more junior team members. It’s no small task!

  • In addition to the above, here are the required skills, knowledge, capabilities, and education for this role:

  • Law Degree and/or Legally Qualified; 
  • Legally eligible to work in the country this role is based
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience of drafting and negotiating commercial contracts within a law firm, an ALSP, as part of an in-house legal team; 
  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; 
  • Strong attention to detail; 
  • Regular client-facing experience; 
  • Good commercial awareness, working directly with business managers; 
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite - especially Microsoft Word; 
  • Organizational fit for the Factor culture - exhibiting the core values of Authenticity, Accountability, Adaptability and Stewardship; 
  • Client relationship management

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of working with or for a telecommunications, financial services or professional services firm preferably in a contracting function;
  • Experience of working in-house
  • Command of different contract types (including MSA, SOW, CDA, Amendments) is an advantage

Additional Information

As a member of an ISO Compliant center, the candidate will be required to follow the policies and procedures on Information Security Management System in place at the Center of Excellence and globally at Factor.
