We are looking for a Procurement Manager to optimize our sourcing strategies, vendor relationships, and overall procurement process. This is a newly created role that offers the opportunity to shape the procurement function from the ground up in a high growth software company with global operations.
Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Procurement Manager will be responsible for overseeing all procurement activities within the company, including sourcing, vendor selection, contract negotiations, and procurement policy development. The role will involve collaboration across multiple departments to ensure cost-effective, high-quality, and timely delivery of goods and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, vendor management, and contract negotiation, preferably within a tech or software company environment. This individual will utilize expert knowledge in sourcing, analytics and contract negotiations with the goal of meeting the quality requirements and specifications at the most favorable price for the organization, while simultaneously building and maintaining strategic relationships with key suppliers.
What You'll Do:
- Procurement Strategy and Vendor Management
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, and overseeing purchase orders.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers that meet the Company’s quality and cost requirements.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with business objectives and optimize cost efficiency.
- Develop financial modelling on cost savings simulations to support the decision making of department managers.
- Monitor supplier performance and compliance, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of services and products.
- Negotiate contracts, ensuring terms are favorable and mitigating risks through well-structured agreements.
- Monitor license subscriptions across all software tools and hold department managers accountable on commitments and requirements.
- Analyze market trends and procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize spending.
- Stay current with internal and external factors impacting procurement function.
- Research and survey buying markets to source the best supplier’s products, in accordance with corporate objectives.
- Process and Policy Improvements
- Develop and enforce procurement policies and procedures to standardize practices across the organization.
- Develop regular reports to senior management on procurement metrics and performance and provide actionable analysis.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (Finance, Legal, IT, Operations, etc.) to ensure procurement policies align with the Company’s needs and compliance requirements.
- Lead initiatives to digitalize and automate procurement processes where possible.
- Ensure the company meets regulatory and corporate social responsibility (CSR) requirements in its supply chain.
- Vendor Database Management
- Maintain an extensive database for all projects and related contracts and provide information for analysis and reporting.
- Provide contract updates and relevant contract details to all internal departments as requested.
- Advise departments and business units of lead time required to obtain contracts and establish new supplier relationships.
- Prepare and administer bids, requests for quotes, requests for proposal, requests for information, and other vendor documentation.
What You'll Bring:
- Post secondary education in Business, Finance, Engineering or Supply Chain Management
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, vendor management, or a similar role:
- Significant experience in complex procurement activities, vendor management and working alongside internal stakeholders to manage risk and cost strategies.
- Demonstrated experience performing as a “business partner” to department managers with exceptional oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the Company and with external stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation skills with demonstrated experience obtaining positive outcomes for department managers.
- Strong financial modelling skills with significant experience creating cost saving simulations to drive decision making and presenting output in a simple and effective way.
- Experience with enterprise procurement software and 3rd party risk management systems (e.g. NetSuite, OneTrust).
- Experience managing low risk contract legal reviews and proposing redlines (in consultation with internal legal teams). Demonstrated ability to assess and balance legal, financial and enterprise risks.
- Experience in a global procurement role or working with international vendors.
- Familiarity with procurement in the technology or SaaS industry.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and corporate social responsibility in procurement.
