Job Scope:
Owns the end-to-end execution of 500 Global’s signature and customized VC training programs in assigned geographic region(s). This includes event logistics and location management, attendee management, and instructor communications.
The Director of Operations also supports the Education team in the development and launch of new products and other special initiatives that better connect the 500 Global investor community with real-time founders and relevant deal flow. S/he will work closely together with the Education team to strategize and implement new programs and products, while also liaising with other key teams and stakeholders at 500 to ensure that everything we create ties back to the flywheel and maximizes our impact to emerging ecosystems.
Essential Functions
- Carry out the end-to-end execution of programs in assigned region(s), from marketing the program to designing the curriculum and managing the client, team, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee status and ensure timely execution of programs and projects.
- Collaborate with other Education Director(s) to align and streamline processes and ensure best practices on global program execution.
- Hire, onboard, and manage Education operations team members in support of the execution of global Education programs.
- Work closely with the Global Head of Education to strategize, prioritize, and operationalize new product offerings that align with 500 Global’s strategic roadmap.
- Liaise cross-functionally to enhance collaboration and optimize synergies on new initiatives and existing projects and programs.
- Support initiatives to develop and strengthen the investor and alumni community.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Experience: 10 or more years of experience in the startup and investment ecosystem or delivering education programs to adults. 6 or more years as a people or team leader. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in adult learning and education.
- Ability to manage remote teams.
- Experience working internationally and with cross-cultural business.
- Fluent in English (native or near-native proficiency).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing complex projects that interact with multiple stakeholders.
- Fluent in a language other than English.
Physical requirements
- Required travel to San Francisco, and other geographies up to 25% of the time.
